Hey guys! I just wanted to let you guys know,I'm proud of you guys, really happy and appreciate all the effort put in by everyone. The performance itself might not have been wonderful for all of us,but the effort that was put in before and after the performance was really good. Everyone joined in the effort to help carry all our things from here to there to another there, and then another there, and again another there, then bac to one of the there, then back to band room. Nevermind if you don't get the "theres". Special thanks to the teachers for being there and helping out! Thanks! Also the Sec 1s and Alumni. They were supposed to watch us,and ended up helping us!Thanks. I would also like to thank the following people: ABMs and Mefline-For helping to cover for me when I was not around and helping to get the band organised at different places and times. Logistics-For making a detailled list of everything brought from here to there and back, and ensuring that everything has returned properly. Brandon-Performing evn for when his sick.He really deserves a round of applause guys. And last, but definitely not the least, the whole band! All of you guys put in alot of effort!Keep up the good work guys! Please study hard from now!!!!Band room can be open for you to study after school, after all it is (supposed to be) our second home right? Get into groups and revise together.Maybe seniors can help the juniors in subjects they are good at! And remember, band is only on next wednesday and saturday for next week.Morning we have National Anthem and in the afternoon, for now sectionals till 4.30. And for those representing band on Sports Day,go pump up those muscles!!Let's show the school how strong band is!(Afterall,we had our longest session of "PT" tonight!) Okay guys, thats all for now.Study Hard,Play Hard! JIA YOU~

I was surfing the net and I chanced upon this site: http://www.whc.net/rjones/rsctext.html It's called Brass Resource. And it is a website with resources about brasses(I know it's obvious.) Well, sorry to the woodwinds and percussionists. But brasses, please do make use of this site,I found it quite useful for myself. You can learn more about brass playing and more about your instrument( like the history, great players, different types of it etc.)

Hello Bandies.... Please takenote the following things: 1)National Anthem for 6th February is ON!Please help to spread the message.Sorry, there was some miscommunication just now. We will be wearing SCHOOL UNIFORM for this. Reporting time would be 6:50am.Please DO NOT BE LATE. After playing, can leave your instrument there. 2)Please bring along your DIL SE SHIRT for the 6th of February. After 1st period, that means at 8:45am,all of you please report to band room, take your stuff(instrument, stands, files etc) and go down to hall and set up there.Student Conductors please carry on with warm ups.SLs,make sure your sections are in tune, especially those "special" sections and those "special" notes, which you all should know by now. Please take your breakfast and come to school in the morning, you will only get ime to eat at around 12noon. After performing,we will split into 2 sides and clear the stage ASAP. Bring all chairs to the side of the stage.Help with percussion isntruments, bring them to the backstage also. After that, move up to band room, leave your stuff there first and then help with the percussion instruments like how you did today(the groups of people and different locations method.) After all percussion instruments come up,then only keep yur stuff, then we have a quick debrief and then you all will be dismissed to go down and watch the concert(I think). Or maybe we can continue with practice?(Not sure yet) 3)Chingay performance.Mr Lim already said the songs: -Overture Jubiloso -Love of Kangding -Legend from Yao -Clarinet Ensemble You all know there is very little time for these pieces, especially Overture Jubiloso. So please practice by yourselves too,not just only when you come to band. Details for this performance will be given later. 4)9th February.I know that many of you will be celebrating with your family and some might even go overseas for the long weekend. I am no sure whether there will still be band prac on this day.I think there will still be,we will keep you updated. Well, thats all for now. If you have read the band blog, please tell your friends to do so too....thanks. |
