Hey Bandies :D
Firstly, Congrats to Aloysius(5n1'07) and William(4e1'07). As what William had said, if you need help you want approach him. We're so proud of these two seniors,ain't we :D
Secondly, practice diligently for your Legend From Yao. We gonna play it for the CNY celebration which is on CNY eve itself! Jia you! Practice harder!
Thirdly, the chingay performance! It's just 27 days away from today! 27 days is not that much of time actually. Look forward to the performance alright :)
Do rest well and take care of your health,i'm sure no one wants to be sick on CNY XD

Band!!
Please,I expect all members to have their files in your school bags at all times on band days.
We will just randomly check anyone,and you will be punished if you are caught and do not have a good reason to explain yourself.
Members,if you have classes or workshops during band hours,inform the teachers,band directors and the BMs,get permission then leave.After your activity,just take a quick break(10mins max) if you really need it then report for band.
DO NOT give lame excuses for not turning up just because you did not bring your file or mouthpiece.You are still expected to come,even if there is 5 mins left.
On this coming Friday, 25th Jan,please report to band room by 1pm.Everyone has to come,attendance is compulsory.You will be dismissed latest by 4.This is for the CNY performance rehearsal,and there is only 1 session.If you miss it,you will nto get anymore chances to rehearse.
SLs,please make sure you know everything about your members' condition at all times during band hours.

Hey guys....good job with the Sec 1 Orientation!!!!
Really proud of you guys!!
Lets hope that we will get enough members to start making the band big and strong.
We need about at least 20 Sec 1s,who are regulars,hardworking and with a positive attitude and mindset.
As Mr Lim said,you never know when the Sec 1 you are talking to would be your Band Major or star player 4 years later.
Just to remind you guys,here are a few updates.
Pieces for current practices:
-Flight of Valor
-Legend of Yao
-Beauty and the Beast
-West Side Story
-Songs in your own ensembles
-Music of fireworks and Ode to Joy[Brasses only,by 17th Jan 7am]

Everyone,please get ready a notebook.You will need it for alot of things.Bring it for every practice.

-Report to band room by 3 pm.
-When you report,your are to have taken your lunch and set up your instrument fully.That means after taking attendance,straight away warm up,unless of course you have some special reasons.
-Practice as usual.You are to leave the band room by 7pm after fall-out.
Wednesdays
-Report at 2.30pm.
-Have your lunch before you report.
-After taking attendance,time will be given to get ready for warm up.
-By 2.45pm,sectionals are to have started.
-Ms Loh will be most probably be taking the Sec 1s in the smaller half of the band room[SHBR].So do not go and disturb them.
-Start packing up at 4.15pm.By 4.30pm,I want the whole band seated in fall-in position in the SHBR.In yellow band tee or PE t-shirt with comfortable shorts.Guys,do not wear the lower-sec school shorts.
-We will carry on with activities.
-You are to leave the band room by 6pm after fall-out.
Thursdays
-Report at 6.50am.
-Attendance is compulsory.
-Do not keep coming late and keep saying wake up late or miss the bus.Make it a point to change,or not what is the use of joining a CCA right?Learn and change.
-Set up instruments and carry on with instructions from Band Directors and/or Teachers.
-You will be dismissed by 8.25am,so after that quickly pack up and go down for morning assembly.
Saturdays
-Report at 7.45am.Yellow band tee or PE t-shirt with comfortable shorts.Guys,do not wear the lower-sec school shorts.

new teacher
Hey Bandies,
We have a new teacher joining us this year. I'm sure everyone that is present that day when Miss Zaihana addressed us will know who she is.
Well, let's welcome MISS PANG to the FTP concert band family! -clapclapclap-
I think she will be visiting us in the band room any time now already, welcome her in with smiling faces alright :)
Tomorrow's the orientation,guys! JIAYOU. Although there's only 143 sec1s this year, we still gonna get as many sec1s as possible right! Your performance tomorrow will leave the first impression and the most impression on the sec 1s so please do your best~
Have an early night and don't let the bed bugs bite~

I believe that ALL of you are aware of the schedule.
On a side note,band though does not directly help you academically,it is as important as your studies and it contributes to your character development,learning skills(music),gaining great experience and many others.
Please always remember band,or any other CCA for the matter of fact,is created by the Government,and it is created because the Government knows it is very important for students.
Yes,we understand that many of us also have other commitments like family,friends,work and house chores.We also have them,we are not special kids(or teens).But as it has been told many times,it is all about efficient time management.That means you have to sacrifice some things to get other things,its about planning and making sure you have time for the things that are more important than others.Please think it over,we do not want to go back to the same old problem.
Anyways,just to let you know,tomorrow when you report in school uniform at 1 30pm,those who had PE in the morning can wear their PE shirt.Please remember to bring your BLACK BAND TEE IN YOUR SCHOOL BAG!!!!.Tomorrow,either one of our student conductors(or both,I don't know yet) will be conducting,so I think we should all support and encourage him/her/them instead of jeering them.You have practiced the drills.Don't let all the sweat and time go to waste!!Do your best!!
We will have rehearsals first,then dinner and then the actual thing.When you are given dinner,I want everyone to sit down immediately.SLs please know how many people in your section,report to one of the BMs or teachers,get your food and start eating.And please eat properly.Then once your done eating,hurry up and change into your black band tee.
And remember,WHITE SOCKS WITH WHITE SHOES ABOVE ANKLE LENGTH and NO-DYED HAIR.
After the performance,take all your things and leave quickly.I just need ALL the guys to come back and help as there is quite little percussion instruments.
Please always be alert and do not play around.SLs,you are to ensure your members are well-behaved.
You guys know how much we need this orientation!So do your best! JIA YOU!!
And about the instrument loan forms.Well,just bring it tomorrow even if you have not signed and filled up anything.Whatever state it is in,just bring it.I will tell you guys about what to do with it.(Yes,its not just write down instrument number and sign).

2008 begins!
YO EVERYONE!
How was the first day of school? :P
Well,i'm here to update about some general stuff so ya...
Band Schedule for 2008
Monday : 3.30pm to 7pm (general overall dismissal) -combine practice
Wednesday : 2.30pm to 6pm, not forgetting National Athem, -sectionals
Thursday : 7am to 8.30am* -combine practice
Saturday : 8am to 2.30pm -activities, sectionals, combine practice.
* Yes,you ain't seeing things. There will be combine practice at 7am with Mr Lim.
Upcoming performances/events(for Jan)
4th Jan : Sec 1 orientation
We're performing to parents and the sec 1s here, please do your best :) Jiayou! We're going to impress and impress them to come join band! :D
Performing : John Williams, Night Train, Copacabana followed by the display drills (hawaii5o)
As on the schedule given out, reporting time is 2.30pm. I believe we will be dismissed by 8pm.
5th Jan : Rehearsal in Peirce Secondary School for sec 1 orientation.
Well,not a performance but bringing home our instruments on Thursday night will be good so we can meet at TPY mrt and just go since transport is not provided :D That will be what's happening in the morning. For the afternoon, after lunch, please return to FTP as there will be a an enrichment workshop from 2pm to 4pm.
9th Jan & 10th Jan(wed&thurs) : sec1s visit
The sec1s will be making their rounds around the school, visiting each CCA's room. They will be exposed to the instruments here so please handle them properly. Here is the best time to interact with the sec1s and 'JOIN BAND!' XD
Time of event : 2pm to 5pm. Reporting time at band room will be announced again.
12th Jan : Sec 1 orientation at Peirce Secondary School.
Transport will be provided this time round. Time will be from 8am to 1pm. Ok we hafta meet way earlier for this! =\ Ya,performing the 3 pieces and the display.
By the way, please return the 'offical undertaking of instruments on loan' form and the 'sec 1 orientation' consent form to your SL by Saturday. SLs,once your entire section has given it to you, give it to the BMs. (ya,by Saturday too)
See you guys on Friday for the rehearsal before our performance :D
